Who We Are
Established in 2017, Laredo Immigrant Alliance is a 501c3 non-profit led by directly impacted individuals seeking to create change in the lives of immigrant and low income families in Laredo and Webb County through education, advocacy and organizing.

Our History
In 2017, Laredo faced intense political threats like the implementation of SB4 and the looming end of DACA. In a county that has three detention centers, residents of Webb county recognized a lack of local advocacy, safe spaces, and legal resources for the immigrant population. Directly impacted community members established the Laredo Immigrant Alliance (LIA) to build a local infrastructure of power.
Since then, LIA has cultivated strategic partnerships with allies and organizations across the local, state, and national levels. These partnerships allow LIA to provide tremendous, life-changing support for local residents through essential services, programming, and direct action that strengthens the immigrant community.

We envision a just society where all immigrants, regardless of status, live in a safe and supportive environment that fosters human dignity at its core.
