Who We Are

Established in 2017, Laredo Immigrant Alliance is a 501c3 non-profit led by directly impacted individuals seeking to create change in the lives of immigrant and low income families in Laredo and Webb County through education, advocacy and organizing.

Our History

In 2017, Laredo faced intense political threats, including the implementation of SB4 and the looming end of DACA. In a county with three detention centers, residents of Webb County recognized a lack of local advocacy, safe spaces, and legal resources for the immigrant community. In response, directly impacted community members came together to establish the Laredo Immigrant Alliance (LIA), building a strong, local infrastructure rooted in collective power.

Since then, LIA has built partnerships with allies and organizations across local, state, and national levels. Through this network, we provide vital, life-changing support to our community through essential services, programming, and organizing efforts that strengthen and uplift immigrant families.
