Our Programs
The Laredo Immigrant Alliance (LIA) is a community-led movement building safety and stability for immigrant and low-income families. Through free workshops, legal resource referrals, and grassroots advocacy, we empower our community to create lasting change and ensure dignity and justice for all.

Community Education and Outreach
LIA offers a variety of interactive workshops focused on informing the public about their civil rights and liberties when navigating a sensitive immigration status, and dealing with the police, ICE, Border Patrol, & other law enforcement agencies. Additionally, we co-host workshops with attorneys & other partners on topics that affect the immigrant community. Our community partners include agencies like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Immigrant Legal Resource Center(ILRC), Texas Immigration Legal Council (TXILC) & Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid (TRLA), among others.
Our community workshops offer families the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to become active participants in their own lives. Our workshops are led by professional and trained facilitators, and attendees will receive resources and support to help them become informed and empowered.
