Established in 2017, Laredo Immigrant Alliance is led by directly impacted individuals seeking to create change in Laredo through community building.
Our Story
The implementation of the racist SB4 law and DACA's potential termination in 2017, were two of the major drives in creating a space to fight against the oppression of immigrant communities, more specifically in the border town of Laredo, Texas, LIA's hometown.
LIA has since created partnerships & connections with allies, and organization at the local, state, and national levels. These partnerships have had a tremendously positive impact on local residents in need of services such as, detention visitation & monitoring , DACA renewal support, and community workshops.
